Easing Paperwork Headaches with Dashpivot

October 7, 2018 0 Comments

Sitemate is a project management startup founded by Hartley Pike, a civil engineer and Sam McDonnell, a graphic and product designer. Together they have created Dashpivot, a software that helps the construction industry, as well as the oil and gas, building, and mining sectors to digitalise their internal management system’s standard operating procedures. Previously known as Construction Cloud, Sitemate was launched in the University of Sydney’s UTS Startups program in 2015 and has since raised $1.3 million in funding from Artesian Venture Capital, Sydney Angels, and high net worth individuals.

The idea of coming up with Dashpivot came to Pike when he was working as a civil engineer at a company called, Abigroup Contractors. He used to spend an entire day filling out permits and then spend the rest of the week manually transferring these permits to managers for building projects. He spent a week doing all this paperwork just for a project to commence on site!

According to Pike, Dashpivot is more than just a cloud-based repository. It does not just store and manage word document or spreadsheets, clients can actually build their own format and customise it depending on their needs.

“Because all of the processes are within a standardised format, it automatically standardises all of the data [captured in documents] within their organisation, which then allows us to help them with analysis and performance measurement in real time,” Pike said.

“Basically what we’ve built is a new format for documents entirely.” He added.

In 2017, Sitemate was selected for the Startmate Technology Accelerator Program, a program described by Pike as a turning point for his startup to shift its focus from the construction industry to a now wider scale of multi-sector focusing on technology.

The startup is well received by companies coming from different 30 countries, including the likes of Lendlease, Bouygues, and Seymour Whyte.

Pike and McDonnell now plans to develop the portfolio-wide analytic capabilities of their platform.

What does Dashpivot do?

Dashpivot creates real-time pivot tables, graphs, and charts without having to go through manual data entry. It automatically collects data from your forms and activities, allowing you to easily unlock custom analytics and insights with just the click of a button. This also allows you to keep track of your transactions and other logistics such as knowing how much concrete has been delivered in a month. All the data you need is there waiting for you.

You can easily create any digital format you want with the built-in drag-and-drop form builder, or you can also use one of the free templates available in the free library. With this, you no longer have to spend hours doing paperwork just to get or keep a project moving.
