Trimble Connect is a cloud-based app that is designed to improve the efficiency of and collaboration between design, construction, and civil construction crews, as well as management.

This software streamlines day to day operations and simplifies the collaborative process, giving construction and civil construction workers and management the ability to access, analyse, manage and share project data from anywhere in the world at any time.

And don’t think your civil works project is too big for Trimble Connect. The clever app design has integration capabilities to allow it to manage highly complex heavy civil construction projects. Trimble’s Business Center software (part of Trimble’s Heavy Civil Construction Division offering) that allows you to edit, process, and adjust geospatial data integrates seamlessly with Trimble Connect.

Amongst the many benefits of Trimble Connect, those that are particularly useful to the Civil Construction Industry include:

  • Improved Crew Efficiency, eg. collection and storage of data, and effective workflows are at your fingertips.
  • Reduced Costings, eg. quicker turnaround times as workers follow set out workflows contributes to reduced downtime and less need to re-do work. This all reduces the cost of a civil project.

Streamlined Resource Allocation, eg. the work manager knows at a glance what resources are required and can quickly dispatch them to the right location.

  • Better Project Management, eg. a work manager has an overview and can monitor what is going on at a civil works site remotely – who is working where, the progress and productivity, etc.
  • Effective Monitoring of Assets, eg. know the location of, and the condition of critical infrastructure assets.
  • Reduced Errors, eg. synchronise field data directly to back office systems. This eliminates paperwork and manual data re-entry and reduces the risks of human error.
  • Increased Communication and Speed of Collaboration, eg. site supervisors and management can quickly and regularly send work and notes to civil construction crews onsite.
  • Superior Storage and Archiving System, eg. clever storage systems of project data and documentation allows project managers to audit and report on all past and present activity on a civil project. Also being cloud based you can access the data anywhere and at any time on a secure encrypted platform.
  • Flexibility in the Sytem to Work Offline, eg. if you don’t have access to the internet, you can work offline with GIS data, background maps, work orders and forms.

The Trimble Connect app works on a variety of devices including tablets and smartphones. The Mobile app works on Windows Mobile, Windows 7/8, Android and iOS. The software is licensed per user and each user gets individual login details.

One factor that stops people from embracing new technology – in every field, not just the Civil Construction Industry – is the fear of the  learning curve. Trimble Connect software has gained a reputation for its intuitive system making it easy to use. There are also a number of training resources available and a support system in place.
